Advance notice for future vacations, school holidays, etc., is greatly appreciated. At the beginning of each month, please notify the teacher of all planned absences for that month. These lessons will not be charged if adequate notification has been given. For lessons cancelled after the beginning of the month, refer to the cancellation and makeup policies.

Cancellations *

Notification of a cancellation must be given 24 hours before the scheduled lesson time. Otherwise the full amount will be charged.

Makeup Lessons *

Lessons cancelled more than 24 hours before the lesson start time may be redeemed in the form of a makeup lesson credit. Makeup credits are valid for 1 week from the cancelled lesson date. All effort will be made to schedule a makeup lesson on the part of the teacher. In the event that a lesson is not possible due to teacher unavailability, the validity of the credit will be extended until a proper time is found. If the student does not make a good faith effort to find time for a makeup lesson, the credit will expire and the full lesson will be charged.

Practice and Materials *

The recommended practice standard for healthy progress as a beginner is 20 minutes, every day. More advanced students will be asked to practice at least 30 minutes a day. Students are expected to practice AT A MINIMUM for 10 minutes a day, 5 days a week. All students should have a binder or folder, music stand, a guitar footstool, and a suitable chair. A notebook of music staff paper and a practice journal can be helpful as well. Books and other materials are recommended on an individual basis.
